Assembling the right people
Today, I was able to talk to my NHS (national honor society) advisor and talk to her about this project. I told her about the purpose of it and why it's important to me, and she thought it would be an excellent idea to get the school involved. Not only am I going to be helping these kids, but I was able to get my school involved, giving this project of mine more potential than I would have. NHS is going to be donating pillowcases of all sizes to make the dresses needed. Whether I make the dresses or not is yet to be determined. Can I learn to use a sewing machine? I guess we'll find out. Stay tuned.
Beginning Process
When I was little I participated in a variety show for an organization called Little Dresses for Africa. This non-profit organization is based on the faith of people all over who wanted to make a difference somewhere in the world. What LDFA does is, they use pillow cases and turn them into dresses for children in Africa. They provide them with clothing that they wouldn't have any other way. Over the next few weeks I am going to be collecting pillowcases and turning them into dresses to help contribute to this organization, because I too want to make a difference somewhere in the world.
